Travel booking platforms live and die by one number: how many rooms and packages they can move in a quarter. By that measure, TBO Tek just had one of its best three months yet, and the rest of its numbers followed along for the ride.
The travel distribution company reported operating revenue of Rs 926 crore for the quarter ended June 2026, up a striking 81.2% from Rs 511 crore in the same period last year, according to unaudited results filed with the National Stock Exchange. Profit climbed too, rising 31.7% to Rs 83 crore from Rs 63 crore, and jumping 38.3% from the previous quarter's Rs 60 crore, a sign the growth is not just top-line noise.
Hotel and package bookings did most of the heavy lifting, contributing Rs 800 crore and growing nearly 89% year-on-year from Rs 423 crore. Air ticketing stayed largely flat at Rs 81 crore, while a smaller other operating revenue line more than quadrupled to Rs 45 crore from Rs 10.4 crore, a modest but telling sign of diversification beyond the core business. Including other income, total income for the quarter touched Rs 939 crore, up sharply from Rs 524 crore a year earlier, and revenue itself grew nearly 14% even sequentially from Rs 814 crore in the previous quarter.
Growth this fast rarely comes free. Service fees, the company's largest expense line, nearly doubled to Rs 373 crore, and employee benefit costs rose to Rs 179 crore as the business scaled to match demand. Total expenditure climbed 83.1% to Rs 835 crore, just about keeping pace with the revenue surge rather than eating into it.
Investors seem comfortable with the trade-off for now. TBO Tek's shares closed at Rs 1,522.60, giving the company a market capitalisation of Rs 16,385 crore, a valuation that suggests the market is betting this kind of quarter becomes the norm rather than the exception.
