Autonomous drone startup SUIND has raised ₹20.5 crore in a funding round led by Transition VC with participation from IIMA Ventures, as the company seeks to scale manufacturing of its agriculture drones and accelerate the development of autonomous inspection systems, according to the company.
The fresh capital will be used to expand production and commercial deployment of Bumblebee, SUIND's autonomous agricultural drone, while advancing development of WASP, a drone designed for industrial inspection and infrastructure monitoring. The company said the investment will also strengthen its engineering capabilities and expand field deployments.
Founded to develop autonomous aerial systems powered by artificial intelligence, SUIND has built a vision-based autonomy platform that enables drones to operate without relying solely on GPS. The technology is intended to improve navigation in environments where satellite signals are weak or unavailable, making it suitable for agricultural, industrial and infrastructure applications.
The company said its Bumblebee platform is designed to support precision agriculture through automated crop spraying and field operations, while the WASP platform targets inspection of assets such as power infrastructure, industrial facilities and other critical installations.
Transition VC said the investment aligns with its focus on climate and deep technology startups developing technologies for sustainable industrial applications. IIMA Ventures, formerly known as CIIE.CO at the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad, has also backed the company as part of its early-stage technology investment strategy.
The funding comes as India's commercial drone ecosystem continues to expand following regulatory reforms and the government's push to encourage domestic drone manufacturing and adoption across agriculture, logistics, infrastructure and public services. Industry participants expect demand for autonomous drones to increase as enterprises seek greater automation and data-driven operations.
SUIND plans to use the investment to strengthen manufacturing capacity, expand customer deployments and continue research and development of its autonomous flight platform. The company aims to increase commercial adoption of its drones across agriculture and industrial sectors.
