At the centre of the update is Build, Roblox’s generative AI creation tool that lets users turn natural-language prompts into playable game experiences. First introduced in July, Build is now expanding beyond its initial New Zealand test into Serbia and Singapore. Roblox is also bringing it to desktop, adding an asset library and more iterative editing controls, while prompt-based scene generation is expected later this year.

Distribution is changing too. Roblox says creators will soon be able to release experiences as separate apps for mobile, PC and consoles while continuing to use Roblox as the underlying game engine. By the end of the year, users will also be able to open and play supported games directly in a browser through a shared link.

The company is adding more automation inside development itself. NPCs will gain the ability to help playtest games, while creators will be able to support offline play. Roblox is also expanding 2D game creation with orthographic cameras, animated image containers and direct sprite- sheet imports. Together, the updates lower the technical barrier for smaller teams and less experienced developers.

Roblox is also giving creators more control over their earnings through a new Wallet and an upcoming Roblox Card. Creators have earned more than $5 billion on the platform since 2013, including $1.7 billion over the past 12 months. The broader strategy is increasingly clear: make game creation easier with AI, give developers more places to reach players, and turn Roblox’s engine and creator economy into infrastructure that can extend beyond the Roblox app itself.
