Peak XV Partners has sharply reduced its exposure to listed coworking company Awfis, selling shares worth nearly ₹30 crore at a time when the stock is trading close to its 52-week low.
The venture capital firm, through affiliate Peak XV Partners Investment V, sold 12.2 lakh Awfis shares in a bulk deal at ₹245 apiece, generating about ₹29.8 crore. The transaction was executed at a slight discount to the stock’s previous closing price.
Kritagyata Trust emerged as the biggest buyer, acquiring 11.5 lakh shares at ₹244.97 each for roughly ₹28.2 crore. The buyer of the remaining shares was not disclosed. Following the transaction, Peak XV has sold more than half of the Awfis holding it reported at the end of June, when it owned 23.2 lakh shares representing a 3.24% stake.
The sale comes after a difficult stretch for Awfis on the stock market. Its shares have declined more than 58% over the past year and nearly 50% on a year-to-date basis, despite gaining around 5% over the preceding week. The stock has been trading not far above its 52-week low of ₹229.55.
The operating business, however, tells a less pessimistic story. Awfis reported a 140% year-on-year jump in Q1 FY27 net profit to ₹24 crore, while operating revenue increased nearly 27% to ₹424.9 crore. At the end of June, the company operated 251 centres with around 1.7 lakh seats and 84 lakh square feet of chargeable area.
That contrast makes the bulk deal particularly notable. Peak XV is reducing its position after a prolonged share-price decline even as Awfis continues to expand and report stronger operating numbers — leaving the market to weigh near-term investor exits against the underlying growth of India’s flexible-workspace demand.
