Women’s wellness brand Nua has raised $50 million, or around ₹472 crore, in a Series C round
led by Peak XV Partners and Filter Capital. Existing investors Mirabilis Investment Trust and
Footpath Ventures also participated as the Mumbai-based company prepares to expand its
product portfolio and distribution network.
The round combines primary funding with secondary transactions. Founder and CEO Ravi
Ramachandran told The Economic Times that roughly $14 million is primary capital, while most
of the remaining amount provides partial exits to investors including Kae Capital, Lightbox VC
and some angel investors. Nua plans to spend the fresh capital on brand building, wider
distribution and stronger R&D.
Founded in 2017, Nua has expanded beyond period care into a broader women’s wellness
portfolio spanning maternity care, skincare and intimate care. Its products include sanitary pads,
cramp-relief solutions, intimate washes and period nutrition products. The company sells
through its own platform as well as Amazon, Flipkart and Zepto, while digital offerings include
the Nua Period Tracker and SecretKeeper chat.
The company says it now serves more than 3 million women and girls every month. More
importantly, Nua claims its annualised revenue run rate has increased fivefold over the past two
years, from roughly ₹100 crore to ₹500 crore, while the business is currently profitable. Its latest
publicly available FY25 filings, however, showed ₹96.1 crore in revenue and a ₹7 crore net loss,
meaning the newer profitability figure reflects more recent company-reported performance.
With total funding now crossing $65 million, Nua is entering its next phase with a broader
ambition than menstrual-care products alone. The challenge will be turning its growing wellness
portfolio and omnichannel distribution into durable scale while competing with both established
consumer brands and newer players such as Pee Safe, Plush, Azah and Carmesi.
