Navya Naveli Nanda has launched Naveli Ventures, the strategic venture arm of the Nanda Family Office, with a mandate centred on founders building in some of India’s most technically demanding and long-horizon sectors.

The platform plans to back startups across areas including deeptech, space, clean energy, artificial intelligence, advanced manufacturing and healthcare. But Naveli Ventures says it does not intend to define its investment strategy strictly by sectors. Instead, its focus will be on the scale of the problem being addressed and the conviction of the founders attempting to solve it.

Its investment model will extend beyond writing direct cheques into startups. Naveli Ventures also plans to deploy capital through institutional funds and co-investments, while building partnerships with academic institutions and intellectual-property ecosystems.

That broader structure could give it exposure to technologies before they mature into conventional venture-backed companies.

As part of the Nanda Family Office, the venture platform also expects to draw on relationships spanning industry, government, academia and the investment community. The stated ambition is to support founders over longer development cycles rather than optimise primarily for quick financial returns — an approach particularly relevant for sectors such as advanced manufacturing, space and deeptech, where commercialisation can take years.

Nanda is also the cofounder of women-focused healthcare platform Aara Health and nonprofit Project Naveli. With Naveli Ventures, she is now extending that entrepreneurial activity into early-stage capital allocation.

The launch adds another family-office-backed investor to India’s growing frontier-technology ecosystem. But its positioning is deliberately broader than a conventional sector fund: Naveli Ventures is framing its investment thesis around difficult problems, patient capital and founders attempting to build enduring companies for India’s next phase of technological development.
