India's beauty startup story has largely been dominated by consumer brands, influencer-led launches, and viral skincare products. But behind many of these success stories are manufacturers quietly building the industry's foundation.
One such company is Naturis Cosmetics, which is reportedly preparing to raise its first institutional funding round. The investment is expected to be led by Sharrp Ventures, with participation from other investors, marking a significant milestone for the Jammu-based company.
Founded in 2011, Naturis Cosmetics specializes in developing and manufacturing skincare, haircare, and personal care products for multiple beauty brands. Instead of competing on retail shelves with its own label, the company has built its business by helping other brands bring products to market faster and at scale.
Over the years, India's beauty and personal care industry has witnessed rapid growth, driven by the rise of direct-to-consumer brands, changing consumer preferences, and increasing demand for premium products. As more beauty startups enter the market, the need for reliable manufacturing partners has become equally important.
Naturis has positioned itself as one of those key partners, offering end-to-end manufacturing capabilities that allow brands to focus on marketing, customer acquisition, and product innovation. The company is estimated to have generated annual revenue of around ₹250–300 crore, while maintaining profitability a combination that has attracted investor interest.
The proposed funding is expected to support capacity expansion, technological upgrades, and future growth as demand for high-quality beauty manufacturing continues to rise.
The development also reflects a broader shift in India's startup ecosystem. Investors are increasingly looking beyond consumer-facing brands and backing the businesses that enable them to scale. From manufacturing and supply chains to product development, these behind-the-scenes companies are becoming an essential part of the country's startup economy.
For Naturis Cosmetics, this funding round could be more than just fresh capital it could mark the beginning of a new phase of growth in India's rapidly evolving beauty industry.
