Swiss deeptech startup Jaipur Robotics has raised €4.3 million, or around ₹48 crore, in a seed

round co-led by EquityPitcher Ventures and High-Tech Gründerfonds. The fresh capital will

support product development, international expansion and hiring as the company looks to take

its AI-powered waste management technology into new markets, including India.

Founded in 2024 by Ermes Zamboni and Nikhil Prakash, Jaipur Robotics builds computer vision

systems for waste-to-energy plants. Industrial cameras and sensors analyse waste inside large

bunkers, helping detect hazardous or oversized materials before they reach furnaces and

potentially damage equipment or cause costly shutdowns.

The startup says its AI models have been trained on more than 50 million labelled waste

images. Its technology is already deployed across over 35 facilities in Europe, analysing more

than 5 million tonnes of waste annually and claiming hazardous-material detection accuracy of

up to 99%. The system can also estimate waste composition and calorific value to help

operators maintain more stable combustion.

Jaipur Robotics now wants to move beyond detection toward greater plant automation. It is

developing a software layer that can map waste piles, track crane movements and determine

which material should be removed or moved toward furnaces. Instead of replacing existing

cranes, the technology is designed to integrate with the infrastructure already operating inside

waste-to-energy plants.

India is emerging as one of the startup's next markets. Jaipur Robotics already has an

engineering team in Bengaluru and plans to establish an Indian legal entity by the end of 2026

while speaking with prospective customers. With its latest round taking total funding to nearly $6

million, the next phase will test whether its computer vision system can evolve into a broader

operating layer for increasingly automated waste-to-energy facilities.
