Indian consumers have become increasingly ingredient-conscious about skincare. Hyeglo Beauty is betting that the same scrutiny is now moving into makeup. The Delhi-based beauty startup has raised ₹7 crore in seed funding, just seven months after launching its first products.

The round was led by consumer-focused venture capital firm Sauce, with participation from Giga Capital, Consumer Collective, The Patient Capital and Reckitt executive Arjun Purkayastha. Hyeglo plans to use the capital for research and development, new launches, brand building and hiring as it expands across colour cosmetics and skincare.

Founded in April 2026 by Kanupriya Ahluwalia, Hyeglo combines conventional makeup pigments with ingredients more commonly associated with skincare — an approach often described as the “skinification” of makeup. Ahluwalia brings around nine years of beauty-industry experience across India and the Middle East, including roles at Nykaa, Kay Beauty, Noon and Namshi.

The company currently has only three products: the Tintelligence Skin Adaptive Tinted Moisturizer, Better Left Behind Lip Oil Stain and Glow-To Lip & Cheek Glow Balm, priced between ₹799 and ₹1,350. Hyeglo says dermatological expertise informs its formulation process, including input from dermatologist Dr Sonal Tibrewal Garg. Its performance and skincare-benefit claims remain company claims rather than independent clinical conclusions.

Rather than rapidly building a large catalogue, Ahluwalia says Hyeglo intends to launch selectively, with each new product addressing a specific consumer problem. The fresh funding gives the company more room to develop those formulations while trying to establish a recognisable category around makeup that incorporates skincare actives.

The challenge is differentiation. India’s beauty market is already crowded with digital-first brands competing for ingredient-aware consumers. Hyeglo’s ₹7 crore round gives it the resources to move beyond three products; whether “skinified makeup” becomes a lasting category will depend on formulation credibility, repeat purchases and products strong enough to stand on more than the skincare story.
