Artificial intelligence is no longer just another investment theme—it's becoming the defining force behind the next wave of startup creation. As founders race to build AI-first products, investors are making equally bold moves to ensure they don't miss the next breakout company.
Venture capital firm Elevation Capital has announced the close of its $500 million Fund IX, reinforcing its long-term commitment to India's early-stage startup ecosystem. The new fund will primarily invest in Seed and Series A startups, with a strong emphasis on companies building AI-driven products and technology-led businesses. Alongside the new fund, the firm also continues to deploy capital through its $400 million Holdings vehicle, taking its total available investment capital to $900 million.
The firm's strategy reflects a growing belief that India's next generation of technology leaders will emerge from founders building AI into the core of their businesses rather than treating it as an add-on feature. Beyond artificial intelligence, the fund will continue backing entrepreneurs solving large-scale problems across software, consumer technology, fintech, and other high-growth sectors.
Over the years, Elevation Capital has backed several startups in their earliest stages, demonstrating the growing importance of patient capital in helping founders transform ambitious ideas into category-leading companies.
The launch of Fund IX also sends a broader message to the market. Despite a more selective funding environment, conviction around India's innovation economy remains strong. Investors continue to believe that the country's combination of engineering talent, digital infrastructure, and entrepreneurial ambition creates fertile ground for globally competitive startups.
For early-stage founders, the message is encouraging: capital is still available for those building meaningful products with long-term potential. As AI reshapes industries worldwide, investors are making it clear that India's next wave of innovation is only getting started.
