Finding a gym may happen on one app, booking a badminton court on another, hiring a trainer somewhere else, and registering for a marathon through yet another platform. Noida-based OBSESS wants to pull those disconnected pieces of India’s fitness economy into one ecosystem.
The eight-month-old startup has raised approximately ₹3 crore in an angel round from Centricity cofounder Pushpendra Singh, Amit Goel and Harshit Vij. The capital will support technology and product development, partnerships, user acquisition and expansion of its network of gyms, trainers and sports venues.
Founded in March 2026 by Tushar Sharma and Yash Kumar, OBSESS is building a marketplace connecting consumers with gyms, sports facilities, professional trainers, nutrition services, wellness brands and fitness products. Rather than building around a single activity, the startup is positioning itself as infrastructure across a user’s broader fitness journey.
That approach is split across multiple partner products. Obsess Play Partner helps users discover and book sports venues; Obsess Gym Partner gives fitness-centre operators digital and operational tools; and Obsess Event Partner handles registration, ticketing and participant management for events such as marathons and cycling competitions. The company is also working on AI-led features for workout planning, nutrition recommendations and personalisation.
The opportunity is sizeable but still underpenetrated. A Deloitte India and Health & Fitness Association report cited by Indian Startup News valued India’s commercial fitness market at roughly ₹16,200 crore in 2024, with 12.3 million members. It projects the market could reach ₹37,700 crore and 23.3 million members by 2030.
OBSESS has not yet disclosed user numbers, revenue or transaction volumes, making adoption the key metric to watch next. Its ₹3 crore round is therefore less about scaling an established marketplace and more about proving that users and fitness businesses actually want one connected layer across sports, gyms, events and wellness.
