Artificial intelligence is no longer limited to software it's making its way onto factory floors, and SwitchOn is building for that future.
The Bengaluru-based physical AI startup has raised $8 million in a Pre-Series B funding round led by IvyCap Ventures, with participation from existing investors. The fresh capital will be used to strengthen its AI platform, accelerate product development, and expand into international markets.
Founded in 2017, SwitchOn develops AI-powered vision inspection systems that help manufacturers identify product defects in real time. Its flagship platform leverages computer vision and edge AI to automate quality inspections, enabling businesses to improve accuracy, reduce manual intervention, and minimize production losses. The company serves manufacturers across industries including automotive, electronics, pharmaceuticals, FMCG, and consumer goods.
Quality inspection has long been one of the most time-consuming and resource-intensive processes in manufacturing. As factories become more automated, businesses are increasingly investing in intelligent systems that can detect even the smallest defects without slowing down production. This shift is creating strong demand for AI-driven quality control solutions.
The latest funding comes at a time when investor interest in physical AI continues to grow. Unlike traditional AI applications that focus on digital workflows, physical AI brings intelligence directly into real-world industrial operations, helping manufacturers improve efficiency, consistency, and product quality.
With fresh capital, SwitchOn plans to scale its technology, expand its global footprint, and deepen its presence across manufacturing sectors. As industries continue to embrace automation, the startup is positioning itself to play a significant role in shaping the next generation of smart factories.
