Dehradun-based medtech startup Sunfox Technologies has raised $7 million in Series A funding as it prepares to scale its portable cardiac-screening technology across India and expand into international markets.

The round was led by investor Ashish Kacholia, Lashit Sanghvi, Alchemy Capital and 3one4 Capital. It is the largest funding round raised by Sunfox since the company began as an R&D venture in Uttarakhand in 2016. The fresh capital will be used to deepen its India presence, strengthen global go-to-market capabilities and increase investment in research and development.

Sunfox was founded by Rajat Jain, Arpit Jain, Sabit Rawat, Nitin Chandola and Saurabh Badola. The founders began exploring cardiac diagnostics after losing a friend, with the aim of reducing the time required to identify serious heart conditions and connect patients with appropriate care.

At the centre of the company’s offering is Spandan, a portable ECG platform designed for personal, clinical and institutional use. Frontline health workers can use it to capture an ECG and share the result with doctors remotely, helping identify critical cardiac patterns even in locations without immediate access to a cardiologist. Sunfox also operates Spandan One, a digital layer for remote ECG review, case coordination and tele-ECG network management.

The company says around 60,000 Spandan devices have already been deployed across India, reaching more than 20,000 villages. Its Spandan One platform is used to screen approximately five million patients annually across different healthcare settings.

Sunfox has regulatory approvals in India, Ghana, Kenya, Tanzania and South Africa, and is pursuing approvals in the US and European Union. The Series A now gives the startup the capital to turn a device built in Dehradun into a wider cardiac-care platform spanning rural India and global healthcare markets.
