Search engines are good at finding published information. CuriousCats.ai believes they are much weaker at showing what people are saying while a story is still unfolding. The company has launched **OpenChase**, a search engine designed to bring recent social-media conversations, videos, forums and news into one searchable experience.

Launched in public beta on October 19, OpenChase is currently free to use without a waitlist, invite code or sign-in. The product grew out of CuriousCats.ai’s efforts to understand online discussion beyond conventional news coverage, eventually becoming a standalone search product.

OpenChase pulls content from **10 platforms** — X, Reddit, YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, Threads, LinkedIn, Substack and Medium — alongside news websites. Users can explore conversations from the previous 24 hours and compare how the same subject is being discussed across different platforms and countries.

AI is used to organise those results rather than replace the underlying sources. OpenChase generates thematic overviews and categorises themes using tones such as factual, speculative, critical and celebratory. Each theme can then be opened to reveal the original posts behind it, giving users a way to inspect the source material instead of relying only on the generated summary. The company says it does not fabricate likes, views or quotations.

The product is targeting journalists, researchers, creators, communications teams and brands that need to follow fast-moving public conversations without searching individual platforms separately. CuriousCats.ai also sees the same infrastructure being useful for AI systems that need fresh social context.

A developer-focused expansion is planned for October 23, including connectors for ChatGPT and Claude, MCP support for coding agents and a REST API for businesses. Those capabilities are upcoming rather than part of the current public beta.

OpenChase’s bet is straightforward: sometimes understanding a story requires more than finding what was published — it requires finding what people are saying around it as it happens.
